Here you can find useful information for your daily web3 journey
ā - What is a Discord token?
A Discord token is an encrypted key containing your Discord account information such as your username, password, etc. The Discord servers check your token (instead of your username or password) to verify your identity. This method helps to protect you from potential sniffing attacks.
ā So basically if your discord token got exposed (using a script from the website, links) - that means your account is not safe. ā - My account might be exposed. What should I do?
1. Go to setting > Authorized Apps > Remove/ Deauthorize all unknown app (You should remove all if you not sure, you can always re-link them back) 2. Change your password immediately (This will also help change your token as well) 3. Add two-factor authentication (You should, because this can STOP PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING, BigTinnyBrand!)
ā - BASICALLY, HOW TO PREVENT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE
1. Always check the website URL (Is it official?)
2. When join a discord, PLEASE DO NOT VERIFY YOUR ACCOUNT until you are sure the verify links/ embed is LEGIT/ SAFE (Else, just leave the server, cuz this link might run a script to extract your token = aka. your discord account)
3. Open a ticket, reaching us out and expose the scammer ā so we could ban them (for everyones safety thanks to you)
ā - In NFT and Web3space, we should always keep in mind and beware of:
1. Impersonator ā Fake admin, moderators (Usually in DM)
2. Scam link from suspicious sources ā Fake mint link, login page, etc.
3. Free/ unknown token, NFT airdrop. 3. Scam events/groups
ā - How to be safe in the space? You should always be mindful and skeptical, those are very important in these spaces where you are the most important factor in protecting your own valuables. (Yes, it's true)
Here is some advice for your safety:
1. Turn off direct messages in discord. (90% people who DM you are scammer)
2. Don't click on many links in the servers, ever. (They will drain all your wallet)
3. Always check the URL of the website before entering your account ID, and password. (Phishing site, fake website ā Steal your account)
4. NEVER sign unknown transaction from suspicious link (They will drain all your wallet)
5. NEVER EVER share your private key (If anyone know your wallet ā It's no longer yours)
6. Only check live events/ links from the official sources. (Phishing site, fake mint ā fake FOMO, but real consequences)
š Finally, stay safe and always be mindful š š”ļø BIG TINY BRAND TEAM š”ļø
